Orphans – current example
We learned about three orphans: two young women, Arda Thubru, 21 years old, her sister Arka, 18 years old, and her brother Wandame, 12 years old. Her father had left the family and her mother could not support the family alone. That's why the two girls left school after the second grade. Arda and Arka worked as housekeepers in a large house. Due to the Corona crisis, they lost this job and returned to their village. Wandame was able to attend school until the 6th grade. But then there wasn't enough money anymore. He had to help at home and contribute to the family's livelihood. The house they live in is in terrible condition. The mother had started construction work, but died after a long illness. Now the three siblings live in this house under extremely poor and unhygienic conditions and don't know what to do next.
We want to help people who have found themselves in a precarious situation due to whatever misfortune. Be it the death of a relative, illness or whatever can happen in life. If our local partners receive a request for help or come across a family who no longer knows what to do and is dependent on support, we would like to step in and try to alleviate the need.
Our activity
Through a sponsorship with us, Wandame has the opportunity to go back to school. The next measure we want to support is to get the house into a habitable condition for the three orphans.
And our local partners are committed to finding new jobs for the two young women.
